Rake obtained his bachelor of Arts Degree from Miami University in 1999, with a major in English. He obtained his Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Dayton School of Law in 2004. He is a member of the Dayton and Ohio State Bar Associations, and a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives.

While in law school, Mr. Rake worked as a law clerk for Horenstein, Nicholson and Blumenthal. He also volunteered at a hospital for the mentally disabled.

Mr. Rake is admitted to practice before the State Courts of Ohio. He currently represents disabled claimants before Administrative Law Judges at the Office of Hearings and Appeals.

Mr. Rake resides in Centerville, Ohio.
